Speaker Bio
Kristen (Kris) Kimball’s husband Dave Kimball was diagnosed with Stage 4 EGFR+ lung cancer in 2012. Thanks to research, several clinical trials, and Dr. Lecia Sequist’s team at Massachusetts General Hospital, Dave was able to live fully for seven more years. He continued his innumerable projects, built furniture, enjoyed his family, and met new grandchildren.

Kris recently retired from the University of Connecticut Department of Physiology and Neurobiology where she taught up to 800 pre-professional students annually, including three of Dave’s nurses. Currently she finds meaning in continuing with lung cancer advocacy and is a member of The White Ribbon Project board. She also volunteers with several projects through the Lungevity Foundation, where she is a member of the Caregiver Advisory Group; as well as through MGH and the Go2 Foundation. She is interested in promoting research advancing early detection of lung cancer and education in appropriate treatment options for newly diagnosed patients. Finally, Kris is interested in helping to find more ways for fellow members of the lung cancer community, caregivers as well as survivors, to reach out and support each other.
